In 2026, the first Orient Express cruise ship will depart.

The legendary Orient Express is expanding into the cruise industry around 140 years after it first debuted as one of the most opulent trains in the world.
French hospitality company Accor has introduced Orient Express Silensea, the first-ever Orient Express sailing ship.
According to Accor, the 220-meter vessel, which is scheduled to set sail in the spring of 2026 and is inspired by the French Riviera’s Golden Age, will take the title of largest sailing yacht when it is launched.
The Orient Express Silenseas will have 54 suites, including a 1,415 square meter Presidential Suite, two swimming pools, two restaurants, and a speakeasy bar. It can accommodate up to 120 passengers.
The ship will be propelled by a hybrid system that combines wind energy with an engine running on liquefied natural gas. It will also have a cabaret amphitheater where visitors can enjoy exceptional concerts, as well as a private recording studio.

This remarkable sailing vessel, which has connections to the Orient Express’s past, will provide unmatched service and exquisitely designed areas that are reminiscent of the heyday of legendary excursions.
The cruise ship will likely offer itineraries to the Mediterranean waters in the summer and the Caribbean Sea in the winter, with “stopover expeditions to explore cultural riches,” even if there are currently no scheduled trips that can be booked.
